Simply signup here: https://au.zipmex.com/signup, enter your information, and submit the form. Then check your email for the secret code that we've sent you. Use it to activate your account.

Important: After you activate the account, check your email again to find important information we've sent about your account. Next, go to Account > Get Verified to verify the account. Once verified, go to Account > Funding > Deposit to make a deposit.Once your account is funded, you can start trading!

How to sign up on Zipmex

To create an account, first make sure you are visiting the official Zipmex site at https://zipmex.com.au/.

You can quickly create an account directly on the home page by typing your email, preferred username, and password.

The minimum password length is 8 characters but we recommend using a long unique password created by a password manager.
If the password is less than 25 characters long, it must contain one special character, one number, and cannot contain your username.

Please read and agree to our terms of service and privacy policy, before checking the box and clicking “Sign Up”.

For more advanced options you can click the “Sign Up” button at the top right of the home page which will take you to

Please confirm your password, complete the captcha and click the “Activate Account” button.

Does Zipmex provide a wallet service?

Zipmex is an exchange service, not a wallet service. We provide clients the ability to deposit and withdraw funds to our corporate wallet for safe keeping while the funds are being exchanged or trade, but we do not provide a personal wallet service.

Zipmex uses cold storage and a hot wallet like many digital asset exchanges, so your sending address for a digital asset will not be the same as your deposit address. Do not attempt to withdraw digital assets from Zipmex if ownership of the sending address is relevant to the transaction (for example, if you're depositing into an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) address, Zipmex's hot wallet will be the depositor and not your personal Zipmex deposit address).

If you do deposit to a Zipmex address that is not listed on your deposit page, it will not be possible for us to return the funds. It is your responsibility to ensure that the address to which you are depositing is listed on your deposit page.

If you withdraw from Zipmex to a third party that returns the withdrawal to the address from which it was sent, those assets will not be recoverable by Zipmex. Please take the relevant steps to prevent your funds from being sent to addresses that are not listed on the deposit page of your account.

How do I buy and sell currency on Zipmex?

Before you can start buying and selling, you'll need to deposit funds into your Zipmex account. Once your account is funded, you can use the order forms under the "Buy & Sell tab to place orders. Note that the currency pair you select plays a role in determining what is bought or sold:

• If the "buy" button is selected and currency pair x/y is selected, then currency x will be bought and currency y sold.

• If the "sell" button is selected and currency pair x/y is selected, then currency x will be sold and currency y will be bought.

Currency Exchange: Buying/selling and currency pair selection

In currency exchange, there is always one currency that is bought and one that is sold (the sold currency is used to purchase the bought currency). The currencies bought and sold are determined by two things in the order form. First, whether the "buy" or "sell" button on the order form is selected, and second, which currency pair is selected. If you want to buy or sell the second currency in a pair (the quote currency), you have to think backwards, since the "buy" button will actually sell the quote currency in exchange for the base currency and the "sell" button will buy the quote currency using the base currency. Below is a summary:

• If the "buy" button is selected and currency pair X/Y is selected, then currency X will be bought and currency Y sold.

• If the "sell" button is selected and currency pair x/y is selected, then currency X will be sold and currency Y will be bought.

Examples:
If you have funded your account with US Dollars (USD) and wish to acquire Bitcoin (BTC), you can do so by placing a new buy order using the BTC/USD currency pairing. This will exchange your USD for BTC according to the details of your order.

Now, if you are holding Bitcoin Cash (BCH) on your account and wish to acquire more Bitcoin (BTC), you can do so by placing a new sell order using the BCH/BTC currency pairing. This will exchange your BCH for BTC according to the details of your order.

Verifying your account

After signing up for an account, your account has to be verified before you can use funding methods or start trading. Laws and regulations require that we verify your account by asking who you are and where you live. Zipmex takes every measure to prevent fraud and be fully compliant with KYC and AML regulations for trading of digital assets.

We offer different levels of verification for your account, otherwise known as Tiers. See the following resources for more information on verifying your account on Zipmex

What are the Verification Tiers?

o open a basic account (Tier 1) and get started trading, we only ask a few things. An advanced account (Tier 2 and higher) is like opening a bank account and requires supporting documents.

The different Verification Tiers are as follows:

Tier 1- this is the default Tier obtained after registering your account and confirming your email address. You can deposit and withdraw in digital currency only. Trading, however, is enabled for Crypto to Crypto only.

Tier 2 - you can deposit, withdraw and trade in digital currency, fiat currency funding is accessible to you. Bank deposits and withdrawals are available to clients in some areas at this Tier. Full name, date of birth, country and phone number are required. You are required to provide your physical address and identity proof.

Basic requirement for verification

In order to be eligible to register a Zipmex account and use our services, you must meet the following basic requirements:

• Age - You must be 18 years or older
• Email - You must have an email address that can receive emails from us

Required documents for (Tier 2) verification

In order to get your account verified to Tier 2 or higher, we require the following documents to be uploaded in your account:

• Copy of a valid ID document
Valid documents include: passport, national identity document ("ID" or "identity card") or drivers license (front + back)

• Proof of residence document

Valid documents include, but are not limited to: bank statement, credit card statement, utility bill (water, electricity, gas, internet, phone), payroll statement or official salary document from employer, insurance statement, tax document, residence certificate.

However there may be other situations where we require you to upload an ID confirmation photo.

How long does it takes to get verified?

All information and documents you submit for account verification are reviewed through our automated or manual verification methods. Depending on which method can be used to verify your details, account verification times can vary.

Listed in the table below are the estimated processing times for each Tier verification level:

*If your application requires manual review, processing can take a few days. 

If we experience a heavy influx of new users, however, processing times for verification could slow down considerably. If you experience a delay, it doesn't necessarily mean there is something wrong with your application. We'll be sure to contact you if we need anything further from you, so monitor the email associated with your Zipmex account to see if you've received an email from us about verification. For tier 2 verification, it won't help to upload the documents again.

In order to avoid delays in processing your application, it is important that all uploaded documents meet the required criteria. If one or more documents are invalid or do not meet the criteria, we will request you to upload new documents.

Requirements for files uploaded for Verification

If you are having problems uploading files for verifying your account or they are not being accepted it may be that they are not following the requirements. When uploading your verification files, it is important to check that they meet the following requirements:

• Copy or photograph the entire document, ensuring nothing gets cut off

• Do not alter the document or add a watermark or any obfuscation

• Ensure all information on the document is visible, readable and not blurred

• Proof of residence document must contain name, address and be dated less than 3 months ago.

• For languages such as Russian, Chinese, Thai, Hebrew, etc. that use non-Latin characters, a notarized translation of your proof of residence document will greatly speed up processing time. Japanese documents do not require a notarized translation.


Invalid Parameters

Additionally, each file needs to meet the following conditions. If one or more of these conditions are not met, your upload will fail with the error: Invalid Parameters.

• Documents must be high resolution, colour image files.

• Allowed file type extensions are: jpeg, jpg, png.

• File must be at least 98 KB and at most 3 MB.

• Image dimensions can be minimum of 350x350 px and maximum of 4096x4096px


If your file is within these guidelines but you still get the error, then please take a screenshot of your image and try to upload that instead. If it still does not work then please contact support, mentioning "Invalid Parameters" in your message.

Explanation of Fiat currency

According to Wikipedia, fiat currency or fiat money is the following:

Fiat money is a currency without intrinsic value established as money by government regulation or law.

In general, fiat currencies are any currencies that are issued by a government by regulation or law. Examples are the Singapore dollar (SGD).

Fiat currencies can be deposited to or withdrawn from your Zipmex account via bank transfers from banks in Singapore.

Zipmex supports deposits and withdrawals fiat currencies via several different banks. Below is an up-to-date list:

Fiat currency deposit fees

Payments partners that we work with charge us fees for deposits in fiat currencies we support. Fees are listed on the deposit pages specific for each fiat currency, but we also keep the fees publicly available and up-to-date. Below are the deposit fees.

Note that the listed fees are charged by our payments partners upon processing received deposits, but there may be your bank charges fees for carrying out transactions to our payments partners. Intermediary or correspondent banks (banks between your bank and our bank that processes the transaction in transit) may also charge fees or convert the transaction to a different currency en route. These fees are on the account of the sender and the responsibility of the sending bank.

Fiat currency withdrawal fees

Payments partners that we work with charge us fees for withdrawals in fiat currencies we support. Fees are listed on the withdrawal pages specific for each fiat currency, but we also keep the fees publicly available and up-to-date. Below are the withdrawal fees.

How to deposit USD using US bank transfers

To deposit USD via your bank transfers to your Zipmex account you have to first check that your account fulfills the requirements for access to this funding method.

To deposit, navigate to Wallet > Deposit > USD on your account and then select the US domestic wire transfer option there. Follow the instructions closely.

If it is your first time depositing then you will have to add a USD withdrawal bank account. You can do this by navigating to Wallet > Withdrawal > USD and then selecting the US bank transfer option and following the instructions to add a withdrawal bank account.

When you have added a USD withdrawal bank account, navigate to Wallet > Deposit > USD and then select the US bank transfer option.

There you will be given the option to initiate a deposit by creating a deposit notification. This deposit notification prepares the systems of our payments partner and our systems to receive a deposit.

The next step is to carry out the wire transfer from your bank account. Exactly how this works depends on your bank but essentially you enter our banking info as shown on the form and save it as a wire template. Then you use that template to send the amount of money you entered on Zipmex.

This applies to other fiat currencies as well.

Fiat currency deposit and withdrawal limits

The fiat currency deposit and withdrawal limits are listed on the User Settings tab, under verification levels. There are daily and monthly deposit and withdrawal limits.

To check your current withdrawal or deposit limits you have navigate to User Settings > Verification level > Different tier (showing daily and monthly limit depending on tier). 

The daily limit works on a 24-hour sliding window, while the monthly limit works on a 30-day sliding window. What that means is that you have to wait 24 hours for the daily limit to reset and 30 days for the monthly limit to reset. Deposit and withdrawal limits are a required part of our regulatory compliance measures.

Example: Your daily deposit limit is 60,000 USD. Today at two o’clock in the afternoon you were credited a 60,000 USD deposit. Your daily deposit limit is therefore used up for the next 24 hours. That means that you will only be able to deposit fiat currency again at two o’clock the in the afternoon the next day. The 30-day sliding window works in the same manner.

What does Zipmex do to secure my personal information?

The privacy of our user's personal information is very important to us and we've protected this information through the dedicated design efforts of the highly professional security experts on our team. Here's a brief summary:

• Databases containing sensitive user data aren't accessible from our site. They're encrypted and can't be decrypted without access to multiple highly secured systems.

• By far the most likely scenario for leakage of personal data would be user-specific, rather than a breach of the database as a whole - that is, if someone gained access to your personal login credentials, and could then see the same personal information you can see when you log into your account. But we provide many security tools to help you secure your account. At minimum, you should have Two-factor Authentication (2FA) for account login and set up a Master Key. You may also want to add Global Settings Lock (GSL) to your account.

Here at Zipmex, we provide a number of security features that can make your account more secure. We recommend that you secure your account in the following ways:

The registration email with the verification code isn’t sending. Why?

Check your spam folder for emails from noreply@zipmex.com.If you still cannot find it, you can resend the verification code with the directions below:
• Go to https://exchange.zipmex.com/problem-logging-in
• Double check that the email you registered with is spelled correctly;
• Click "I’m a new user and I haven’t received my verification email”? And enter your registered email. Then check your email inbox for another verification code.

Is there an age restriction to register?

In order to be eligible to register a Zipmex account and use our services, you must 18 years old or older.

What do I do if I signed up with the wrong email address?

If you no longer have access to the email entered during your registration, we recommend registering with a new email address instead.

How do I fund my Zipmex Account?

To deposit USD via bank transfers to your Zipmex account you have to first check that your account fulfils the requirements for access to this funding method. A quick way to check if your account is eligible is by checking the KYC levels that you have cleared. Essentially, only accounts that have cleared level 3 KYC requirements are eligible for this funding method. 
To deposit, navigate to Wallet > Deposit > USD on your account and then select the US domestic wire transfer option there. Follow the instructions closely.
If it is your first time depositing then you will have to add a USD withdrawal bank account. You can do this by navigating to Wallet > Withdrawal > USD and then selecting the US bank transfer option and following the instructions to add a withdrawal bank account.

What is two-factor authentication?

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a secondary security measure to verify your identity before signing-in. Zipmex employs a mandatory 2FA policy to ensure this extra protection for your account.

How do I download the Google Authenticator?

We highly recommend downloading Google Authenticator for two-factor authentication (2FA) on your Zipmex account to avoid any inherent security faults presented by SMS.

When you create a GA account, you must use the same phone number that you registered with Zipmex.

How can I install Google Authenticator on a new device?

Step 1: First you'll want to install and sign in to the app on your new device.

Step 2: Next, head to Google's two-step verification Web page using a browser on your computer. You may need to log in to your Google account to access the security settings.

Step 3: Click the pencil next to the Authenticator section. A popup will ask you if you want to change devices or remove Authenticator from your account altogether. Switching GA-associated devices will not invalidate any of your existing application-specific passwords and does not require any backup codes to complete the transition. It will, however, render the temporary codes on your old device invalid.

Step 4: Select the type of device you are moving to, and then scan the QR code using the Authenticator app on your new device.

Step 5: Finally, enter the authentication code that appears on the screen to verify the device. This is just like the log-in process when using two-step verification. 

Before removing the authenticator from your original device, remember to move your other accounts that are using the app. You'll need to visit each site individually and scan the QR code with your new device.

How can I make my account more secure?

ere are some suggestions to make your account more secure:

• Change your password at least once every six (6) months. Passwords should consist of at least twenty (20) characters (both upper and lowercase), numerals, and symbols.

• Always confirm that the URL you use is either https://zipmex.com/ or specifically https://exchange.zipmex.com/login when you are signing in to Zipmex.

• Zipmex will never ask you for your passwords or your personal information via email. Never share personal information such as social security or personal identification numbers over email.

• Enable your account and switch off the multi-device login feature.

How do I disable my account?

Please reach out to our support team at support@zipmex.com for assistance in disabling your account.

If you have a balance, you’ll need to first withdraw your balances before Customer Support can assist in disabling your account.

How do I change my password?

Select "Problem logging in” and then “I’m an existing user and I forgot my password” located on https://au.zipmex.com/problem-logging-in

Follow the instructions on the next page by entering your registered email address and Zipmex will send you an email to reset your password.

For security purposes, resetting a forgotten password will result in a 24-hour hold on cryptocurrency withdrawals.

How can I view my trading history?

You can view your trading history in the ‘Wallet’ tab. Click on the different tokens to have a historical view of all trades and transfers related to your account.

How do I cancel orders while in Zipmex Trading view?

Within the Zipmex interface you can find your open orders just beneath the chart on the dashboard. You can cancel any open order by hovering over the status of the order and clicking “cancel” once it appears.

How does Zipmex price cryptocurrencies?

The value of each cryptocurrency (Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin, EOS, XRP) is determined by the most recent trade (“last price”) executed by the relevant matching engine. All account balances on Zipmex are priced in this way, a convention called “marking to market.”

What order types are supported?

• Market
• Limit
• Limit: Good Til Canceled (GTC)
• Limit: Immediate or Cancel (IOC)
• Limit: Fill or Kill (FOK)

What trading pairs are supported?

Zipmex supports both fiat-to-coin and coin-to-coin trading pairs. As at 20 March 2019, Zipmex offers the following trading pairs:

• XRP/USD
• EOS/USD

Why are prices on Zipmex different from other exchanges?

The price of cryptocurrencies on Zipmex is determined by the buyers and sellers on the exchange rather than prices on other exchanges.

How do I get my limit order filled?

All limit orders are Good 'Til Cancelled (GTC) meaning that they stay on the order book until they have been completely filled or until you manually cancel them.

How do I cancel a limit order?

Login to your Zipmex account and navigate to the order book that the order was placed on (e.g., BTC/USD) via the drop-down menu, differentiating between Buy or Sell. In the order book display, you'll see "[your trading pair] Open Orders" and under "Action" click "Cancel Order" next to the order you wish to cancel.

Note: An open limit order will place an indefinite hold on the associated funds, thereby preventing you from withdrawing or placing another order with these funds. The only way to lift this hold is by canceling your open limit order.

Can I short trade?

At this time, we currently do not offer short selling. This is a feature that can only be accomplished via leveraged trading which we do not offer currently.

Can I trade on margin?

Currently, we do not offer margin or leveraged trading. We are working on the function and will keep you informed when the function becomes available for users. Please see our User Agreement for more information.

What is Zipmex Block Trading?

Zipmex Block Trading is a way to trade large amounts of cryptocurrencies outside of Zipmex’s continuous order books. This creates an additional mechanism for customers to source liquidity when trading in greater size.

What are your trading fees?

We currently charge 0.2% on either side of a trade, i.e. for both maker/taker.

Do you support fiat currencies other than USD?

Currently, we support fiat pairings for USD, SGD, AUD, IDR. If you initiate an international wire from a foreign country, your funds will be converted to USD by an intermediary before it reaches your account.

Can I trade cryptocurrencies other than bitcoin?

Yes, Zipmex operates multiple order matching engines, one for each of our trading pairs which you can see here.

Project Introduction
Bitcoin is a digital and global peer-to-peer money system currency. It allows entities to send or receive money across the internet, even to someone they don't know or don't trust. Money can be exchanged pseudonymously. Cryptography is the basis for Bitcoin's security.

Bitcoin was invented by Satoshi Nakamoto in 2008. A Bitcoin address, or simply address, is an identifier of 26-35 letters and numbers, beginning with the number 1 or 3, that represents a possible destination for a bitcoin payment. Addresses can be generated free of charge by any user of Bitcoin.

How do I withdraw USD from my Zipmex account?

If you have USD in your account that is available to withdraw, you can initiate a wire transfer to your linked bank account in your name.

Please note, wire withdrawals are currently only available through the Zipmex website.

Wire transfers

Wires can be made by customers in and out of the United States. They settle as soon as they have been received in our bank account. As a result, these funds are available for trading and withdrawal immediately once they have been credited to your account.

For international customers

Follow the steps below on how to initiate a wire:

If you are making a withdrawal, you will need to confirm the withdrawal in the Google Authenticator app as a two-factor authentication safety measure.

Can my bank send two small trial deposits to verify the bank account?

Unfortunately, this will not work as a means of verifying your bank account. Zipmex holds an omnibus account of all customer USD on deposit and therefore, any micro-deposits sent by your bank account will not be visible to you. It might be worth sharing this information with your bank, as it is very rare for them to opt for this method of verification.

Can I use a joint bank account?

All transfers to or from your Zipmex account must be initiated in your name to your account. If you initiate a transfer from a joint bank account, it will be rejected.

If you wish to transfer funds from a joint bank account, you must first add this user as an administrator to your account to prevent any rejected transfers.

Why was my wire charged a fee?

Zipmex does not charge for any wire fees. It could be that your bank or your bank's intermediary may have charged your transaction, so please be sure to reach out to them to clarify wire transaction fees.

Where is my wire transfer?

If you cannot find your wire transfer, please double check the following:

• If you are located in the United States, confirm with your bank that the transfer was sent via wire (not bank transfer)

• Confirm with your bank that you chose the same day wire option, instead of the next day or 3-day wire option.

• If you did choose the next day or 3-day option, these funds never hit our account and we do not have control over when they get rejected. However, those funds should automatically be put back in your bank account in 4-5 business days.

• If you are an international customer, confirm with your bank if the wire may need to be processed through an FX desk. This can add another 1-2 days to transfer time.

Once you confirm that the same-day option was chosen for your wire, please let us know using this contact form and provide a tracking number or federal reference number for the payment. We are happy to investigate the location of the wire.

Why was my wire rejected?

Wires are returned for the following reasons:

• Bank account name on wire does not match the Zipmex account holder's name

• The sending bank account is not registered to your Zipmex account

• The account number on wire transfer does not match the bank account registered to your Zipmex account

• Sent from a trust, IRA, or business bank account

The return of your funds may take up to ten (10) business days.

What is a SWIFT code?

If your bank is international then you'll have to use a SWIFT code for your transfer. If it is US-based then please use the wire routing (or ABA) number for your transfer.

Typically SWIFT codes follow the following structure:

First 4 characters - bank code (only letters)

Next 2 characters - ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code (only letters)

Next 2 characters - location code (letters and digits) (passive participant will have "1" in the second character)

Last 3 characters - branch code, optional (‘XXX” for primary office) (letters and digits)

How long until deposited funds hit my account?

BITCOIN (BTC) DEPOSITS:
Bitcoin sent to your Zipmex deposit address will be available in your account for trading after 3 confirmations of the Bitcoin network -- which typically occurs in about 30 minutes.

ETHER (ETH) DEPOSITS:
Ether sent to your Zipmex deposit address will be available in your account for trading after 12 confirmations of the Ethereum network -- which typically occurs in about 3 minutes.

Cryptocurrency transfers

What is a cryptocurrency transfer?

A cryptocurrency transfer on Zipmex is the movement of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC) or Ethereum (ETH) to an external wallet, another exchange, or another person’s wallet.

In order to move any cryptocurrency from one place to another, you need what’s called a “wallet address” that indicates where you would like to send your cryptocurrencies. Once you have the wallet address of the desired destination, go to the appropriate withdrawal tab on your Zipmex dashboard and enter the amount you’d like to transfer.

As always, any transaction (including cryptocurrency transfers) can be confirmed in your transaction history.

Why is there a delay in my cryptocurrency transfer?

Transfers over a cryptocurrency blockchain network are controlled by miners that group transactions into blocks. When your transaction is first posted, it lives in a mempool before being mined. In a distributed system, it may take a few moments for the changes to propagate so that your transaction shows up everywhere. Because of fluctuations in each network’s traffic it can be difficult to predict how long a transaction will take to be confirmed.

Why am I unable to withdraw my cryptocurrency?

Your cryptocurrency withdrawals may be banned if you sign in from a new device.

As a security measure, your cryptocurrencies will be suspended if we detect a sign-in from a new device. You will also receive an email with instructions to lift the suspension immediately. 

Aside to this, we may temporarily prevent withdrawal due to account investigations internally or as requested by relevant regulators/authorities.

How do I withdraw cryptocurrencies from my Zipmex account?

Transferring cryptocurrencies out of your Zipmex account and into an external wallet or exchange can only be initiated by the account owner.

Once initiated, you'll be prompted to input a "Destination Address" (this is provided by your external wallet or exchange) and an amount you’d like to withdraw.

*Please note, that when you are withdrawing BTC from the exchange you may only send your BTC to another BTC address.

How do I transfer cryptocurrencies into my Zipmex account?

Transferring cryptocurrencies into your Zipmex account can only be initiated by the account owner. If you’d like to add to your balance of cryptocurrencies, you’ll need to use your unique Zipmex deposit address which you can find in your wallet tab.

You must initiate a withdrawal from your external wallet or service provider in order to deposit the desired amount into your unique Zipmex deposit address.

*Please note, that when you are withdrawing BTC from the exchange you may only send your BTC to another BTC address.

I want to create ICO tokens by transferring ether from Zipmex

Zipmex is not obligated to return erroneously or unsolicited cryptocurrencies sent to a Zipmex’s cryptocurrency addresses. 

Any ICO tokens traded or created via transfer of ether from your Zipmex account would technically be owned by Zipmex and cause you to lose both your ether and your ICO tokens. Please do not attempt to send any ether from Zipmex to the ICO.
